About the Author
I'm a Website Developer, that's what I do.
This site is basically my contribution of a bunch of the techniques, tools and tricks that I use on a daily basis that will hopefully be of help to others
in the same situation as me as well as providing a useful resource for myself to look back on.
I'm passionate about responsive website design, accessibility and pushing the web forward in an ever changing landscape. Primarily, I'm a front end web developer, using HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery, although in the past, I've spent a number of years working on the back end, developing in PHP, ColdFusion & SQL.
Karibu CMS
I've developed my own content management system, tailor made to suit my purposes, with a view on improving the Search Engine Optimisation of this site. The system is built in PHP/mySQL and laid out on a twitter bootstrap framwork.
Workflow
I've recently spent a bit of time improving my workflow and reevaluating the tools that I use in my development process. Using GIT to manage my source code, create branches and organise deployments has entirely changed my develoipment process, and for the better. The same could be said for coding with Sublime Text, a fantastic and lightweight code editor, which has probably saved me a good few hours every week down to its slick speed. SASS too has become a useful tool in terms of organising my CSS and creating a mopre efficient development process.
There are a few GIT tutorials and SASS tutorials on this site, aimed at gewtting you to the starting point where you can install and experiement with these tools in case you're interested.
